Consol Energy has filed notice with the state of plans to idle its Jones Fork coal mine near Mousie, which will result in laying off 153 employees. The decision to idle the mine stems from the fact that many of the facilities that use the mine’s coal to operate electric power generators have closed, reducing demand.
